I wish I had a new pet Hippo.

Granted, but you become so infatuated with it you spend all of your time taking care of and playing with it, so you don't have time to hang out with any of your friends, who end up leaving you alone, and eventually you become nothing to them but a distant memory.

I wish allergies didn't exist.

Granted, but then spring never comes and all the plowers and ponys disappear.

I wish that we were covering material faster in my math class.

Granted, but then you would start failing the class.

I wish that we would take less notes in this class.

Granted, but then you forget everything the teacher taught.

I wish I knew shorthand

Granted, but all of a sudden, you're driven with an unexplained passion for cheese graters. You're not exactly sure what happened, but once you recover from your frenzy, you find yourself penniless, and the owner of hundreds of thousands of brand new cheese graters.
